BRANCH Serving Tray w/Non-slip Liner | 2011 | Beautiful, modern bamboo serving tray with a hand silk-screened silicone liner. The liner prevents items on the tray from slipping and is removable for easy cleaning. To create the liner pattern, I photographed an Aspen branch hanging over the coast of Lake Michigan in early October. The blue-sky background made it easy to reduce the branch to line-work; this combined with the translucency of the silicone makes the pattern seem to float above the still visible bamboo, like the branch floating over the lake.
